Alexandria Troas Ancient City

Alexandria Troas Ancient City, which is located in Kestanbolluk within the borders of Dalyan village in Ezine district, has been established by one of the Great Alexander’s commanders Antigonos in BC 310.  During the journey to the ancient city, which can be reached via Geyikli or Tuzla, no matter which route you choose, if you observe the land on the left and right sides of the road closely, you can see that many indistinct relics of the ancient city are accompanying the visitors. You can determine how big the ancient city once was by considering the distance travelled to reach the Alexandria Troas ancient city and the relics observed during that time. 
In fact, according to the research results, It is been one of the biggest cities with its fortification walls reaching up to 9 km in length and that there has been efforts to make it the capital city of the East Roman Empire. Alexandria Troas, which has been visited twice by Saint Paulos from Cydnus who strived to promulgate Christianity, is among the sacred cities of Christianity.
