After a pleasant sea voyage starting from Kabatepe, now you are in Gökçeada, the first and only calm island in the world with its Cittaslow title received in June 2011.
The most important feature that makes the Gökçeada exploration route different from other routes of Çanakkale is that; the cultural mosaic assets in the province will be felt more in Gökçeada than in other districts, and of course, the perfect harmony of nature and life.
Unlike Bozcaada, the island center in Gökçeada is not located on the coastline; however, it is located at the inner part of the island. The Central Mosque, Gokceada Metropolithane and Gokceada Panaia Church are among the important historical and cultural values that you may visit during a pleasant walk in the island center. Without exploring virgin bays such as Yıldızkoy, Uğurlu and Laz Bay; without kite surfing at Aydıncık Beach and hiking among pine trees in Marmaros Region; and before going to the old rum villages, do not forget to come to downtown, stop by the tiny and cute shops where thyme and herbs, organic olive oil, and wine from the grapes grown in the organic vineyards of the island are sold.
After exploring the island center, it is time to set out for the villages, which is not far from the center, as the next stops of the cultural route. With their original architectural texture that the visitors are fascinated with; do not forget to add in your route the following villages; Kaleköy, which is four kilometers away from the center; Dereköy, which is sixteen kilometers away from the center; Tepeköy, which is ten kilometers away from the center, Zeytinli, which is three kilometers away from the center, and Old Bademli Greek Villages, which are four kilometers away from the center.
Within the scope of the exploration route of Gökçeada, you may consider;
-Visiting the Dereköy village to see one of the best examples of laundries, which have an important place in the island tradition reaching from the past to the present and you have never been experienced as before during your travels to different places,
-Visiting Kaleköy, which is one of the most beautiful places you may witness the sunset on the island, and end the day in Yukarı Kaleköy with an exquisite landscape,
-Walking around in the side streets in Zeytinli with many stone houses, which have their original architectures, and sipping the Turkish dibek coffee with gum pudding,
-Giving a break in a cool shade offered to you by an age-old buttonwood tree that you cannot help thinking about which events it has witnessed in Tepeköy for centuries,
-Going to the old Bademli village to enjoy the sea view of Semadirek Island, which you may not have thought that you could be so close to it.
Pleasant discoveries in advance....
