Babakale Castle, which gives the village its name, is located at the most western point of Anatolia. Being an Ottoman village, Babakale was built in 1723 during the reign of Ahmet III, made its living with the production of shoes and knife craftsmanship; however, it is stated that only a limited portion of these craftsmanship continues at the present time. Nowadays, you may go to this quiet village, whom is famous for its calamari, to taste these delicious calamari and have a nice time visiting the castle.
